Working on Pokémon Emerald
Jan. 16th, 2013 09:40 pmHow Emerald currently is:
- Introduction to Emerald through Brandon capturing the Regis, and Scott building the complex. TWO MONTHS LATER.
- Emerald appears, riding on the backs of Lati@s
- Todd Snap! He's there for the press conference, and meets Emerald when Emerald calms down the Pokémon that was about to attack him (Sudowoodo). Emerald uses the dirt gun for this task.
- Emerald gets lost in the Frontier and abducts Tucker's Salamence, crashing the conference. He then acts like a little asshole and obnoxiously proclaims that he is going to battle the frontier and for some unknown reason the media is taken with him.
- Emerald has a week to conquer the Battle Frontier.
- Noland throws him OUT OF THE BATTLE TOWER WINDOW
- First challenge is Noland. It's rental Pokémon, and Emerald has to defeat virtual trainers before challenging Noland. Emerald shows off his good battle techniques.
- Sceptile makes an appearance! Emerald has it survive sheer cold, I have to fix that.
- Sceptile apparently went berserk (for Emerald to calm down) because someone shot a poison barb from the audience. He consults Lati@s about it, asking them for assistance.
- He hides the fact that he took Sceptile by harassing Brandon and Tucker and being assholes back to them. He falls asleep after tying them up with his weird impossible arm things.
- Waking up, he finds that he found his way to the Battle Pike. Lucy is amused by the luck of it. Emerald takes off and contacts Crystal to withdraw Pokémon for the challenge.
- Time to battle a bunch of fake trainers again! Also wandering through rooms without battles. It seems random and luck-based, but there are maids offering hints.
- Noland takes a break to figure out what was even the hell with sceptile, and as he realizes that it wasn't there before he gets assaulted. And there's Guile!
- Lucy battle! It's been eight hours. He defeats her by being clever and hiding his strategy from Lucy in advance.
- Emerald goes to "talk to someone". That someone being Latias as a maid. (THIS IS STUPID).
- We then take a break to explain Emerald's soil "Formation". Apparently the "suspicious" Pokémon were planted there by Guile to get the brains to shoo away the press for safety reasons. He expositions that Jirachi is in the area.
- Brandon shows up to Emerald and shoves him in the Battle Pyramid. Most likely because time constraints.
- Doop dee doo Battle Pyramid derr dee dah
- Spencer shows up and drags Todd away because they realize something is amiss. Which is that they found Noland with the shit beaten out of him. All of the rental Pokémon were stolen. They blame Emerald. At the end of Brandon's battle, they confront Emerald about it. Emerald reveals that he knows about Jirachi, and it's his job to hunt Jirachi. Despite wasting time with the Battle Frontier.
- Emerald starts looking for Jirachi now that it's fallen from the sky. He uses Lati@s to get to Artisan Cave. Blah blah wild Pokémon and there's Jirachi.
- And there's Guile! He prevents Emerald from capturing Jirachi. Crystal, over the phone, advises him to just focus on capturing Jirachi. Guile releases the rental Pokémon he stole to fight. The Frontier Brains challenge him, and get owned by the stupid sword and armor. Emerald ignores the battling and attempts to capture Jirachi. He would have, were it not for the surskit using Psychic. Jirachi escapes without being captured by anyone.
- They return, and Anabel confronts Scott because he already knew about it. The other Frontier Brains prepare for the next challenge, and distract the press, while Anabel has a conversation with Scott. Scott reveals that he knew because Professor Oak informed him, since the professor wants to capture Jirachi.
- They exposit this while Emerald is battling. We cut away to find Ruby and Sapphire on a boat, where the seniors are petrified.
- The end of the battle! Emerald wins it by cheering on his Pokémon for the first time.
- Everyone plots and prepares for Jirachi's next appearance, aside from Spenser who wanders off to reflect.
- They take Emerald, who had passed out, up to the room and let him rest. They undress him and realize that he's covered in contraptions and is super short/a midget.
- Jirachi exposition featuring Brandon and Noland. Cut away to Crystal and Professor Oak!
- Tucker introduces actual competitors to serve as obstacles for Emerald. Todd in the meantime notices that there's something amiss with Sceptile.
- Another brief check-in on the battles, before cutting away to Sapphire and Ruby on the ship! Where there is a wedding.
- Exposition explaining what Birch was doing and that Emerald was the intended recipient of the Pokédex and treecko.
- Ruby and Sapphire hit shore, then go to look for Emerald. Emerald tells them off and attacks them with Sceptile who's mad for some reason?? Then they prepare for battle, Emerald first facing up against Ruby. The battle acts as a way to teach Emerald about believing in his Pokémon and getting along with them for the sake of the outcome of the battle.
- When Ruby and Sapphire comment on how endearing it is for Sceptile to reunite with his friends, it's the final straw and Emerald kicks out Ruby and Sapphire and changes which Pokémon he's using. Emerald battles Tucker (and starts failing), Ruby and Sapphire run into Spenser, who recognizes the fact that they touched the legendary orbs.
- Emerald loses the battle. It is a Big Deal. He goes over to Spenser after the old man finishes talking to R&S, and he challenges the Battle Palace.
- Meanwhile, Guile reappears and there's Jirachi again. And Guile catches it. And starts his stupid tirade and goddamnit Emerald is still challenging Spenser.
- They find out eventually, Emerald leaves his Pokémon to do the work without them as a sign of ~trust~. He meets up with Ruby and Sapphire and they comment on how they're a trio of "conquerors".
- Blah blah Guile trying to get wishes out of Jirachi blah. He takes control of Anabel and pits her against them. RSE and Noland take on the challenge and climb as fast as possible. Anabel collapses, Spenser states that he recognizes someone who's touched the orbs, and Archie reveals himself.
- He manages to open Jirachi's eye and make a wish, making the fake kyogre appear.
- Gold! Disguised as Guile. Then he's revealed and he talks about the seniors that are trapped.
- Blah blah action action. Everyone splits up to distract the rampaging Kyogre and learn their ultimate attacks, but it's Emerald tasked with making the wish on Jirachi.
- Emerald backstory.
- They master the ultimate techniques and join the fight.
- Emerald realizes that he really did wish to have friends and he really did like Pokémon. This open's jirachi's eye and wakes the seniors.
- The seniors battle Guile, tear up the armor, then line up to take out Kyogre.
- Then we explain Sird, the armor and sword, and all that. Archie, the armor and sword disappear. Things start wrapping up. Anabel gives Emerald a symbol for his accomplishments ("close enough").
- The PokéDex holders have a tournament so that Emerald can get the final symbol. Todd is commissioned by Professor Oak to go take pictures on an island.
- I need to decide what Wally's involvement with Lati@s is.
- Why is Wally at the Battle Frontier? He's there for training under Norman's direction.
- Why is Wally at the Press conference? He gets lost just like Emerald did, but he wanders in accidentally instead. The press mistake him for a kid from the Make A Wish foundation (reference to Jirachi) and the media falls for him as the lead story.
- Maybe have a tiny little character arc of Wally kicking himself for being so camera shy
- Just dump Wally in Emerald's place for the Noland battle.
- Figure out an alternative for why sceptile might be there, or something more interesting? Hmm. Maybe a kirlia as a cute shout-out to Ruru, and also explaining why Wally was so good at handling it.
- He could take the Kirlia and hold onto it. Also just going to cut Lati@s right out of that scene because they're pointless.
- Instead of being an ass to Brandon and Tucker, when Wally gets caught, he fesses up and admits what he can to them about what happened. He somehow keeps a hold of the kirlia? Maybe trades his cacturne.
- ...Not sure what to do about the Crystal thing. Maybe cut it off for now but we'll see. Maybe cut away to Crystal preparing something for freeing the seniors, taking a break.
- Rewrite the battle between Wally and Lucy. Poison is Lucy's main deal.
- Let's cut out that stupid soil scene and explore the other characters some. And maybe just have a panel of Lucy going "now what was going on in my facility let's fix that" like a brain.
- Really need to think of an alternative for Guile.
- Take out the stupid "I think your friend did it, Todd" thing with the Frontier Brains. That's retarded and they should be smart enough to know better.
- OKAY SO. WHY IS WALLY INVOLVED WITH JIRACHI? Easy: He was there. Scott finds out that he is a Pokédex Holder, and puts him in contact with Professor Oak. Gold and Crystal are on the way, as are Ruby and Sapphire, but they can't get there in time. So when Jirachi appears, Scott talks to Wally and sets him up with Oak and THEN Artisan Cave.
- Instead of winning by cheering on his Pokémon, have it his surprise at Kirlia fighting so eagerly for him.
- Instead of the contraption reveal, maybe just have a moment to pay attention to Wally's illness while he's passed out?
- Jirachi exposition can stay, Crystal needs to be on a boat.
- no1curr Sceptile is going to be where he is supposed to be.
- Wedding is cute and can stay.
- Birch exposition can be cut entirely.
- Get rid of the stupid fucking rainbow pee.
- Instead, make the battle with Ruby about his and Wally's friendship, reflect on Norman a bit perhaps, play with some other ideas since Wally doesn't need to be told to trust in his Pokémon.
- AND NOW THE FINAL QUESTION. What is going to be the final conflict! STAY TUNED.
